Genres like science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal require far-fetched otherworldly sounds, but the inspiration for those sounds is all around us. To create Energetic Forms, sound artist Robert Kellough (Dune, Ant-Man) sought out real-world sounds with a natural “pulse,” then carefully processed and manipulated them to create a collection of energy-based sound effects that are visceral and dynamic, yet grounded in authenticity. Derived from a variety of source recordings ranging from hydrophones in waterfalls to contacts microphones on electrical wires, these sounds are perfect for designing anything from futuristic technology to magic spells and beyond.
Design sci-fi settings with energy weapon blasts, unstable reactor cores, scanner chirps, and rippling whooshes reminiscent of alien vehicles – or create truly fantastical sounds like explosions of raw energy, magical summoning spells, or demonic creature vocalizations. In addition to those bombastic sounds, Energetic Forms contains a variety of fluid, liquid-like textures, tonal drones, and other pitched elements derived from tuning forks, singing bowls, and more. Kellough designed all of the included sounds to be full and detailed enough to stand on their own but still work well when combined, layered, and processed.
Each sound file is embedded with rich, UCS-standardized metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Advanced metadata fields ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as SoundQ, Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
