When you need true-to-life sounds of writing or drawing, look no further than Sonomar Collection: Handwriting. With technical excellence and superb attention to detail, sound artist Martin Pinsonnault (CODA, Dallas Buyers Club) and his Montreal-based team have captured the organic sound of real handwriting with a variety of pens, pencils, markers, and more. Whether you need to nail the sound of calligraphy for a period piece or just want to add some new and interesting sound design elements to your collection, this definitive handwriting sound effects library has everything you need and more.
Sonomar Collection: Handwriting includes recordings of all letters in the English alphabet, as well as numerals 0-9 and basic shapes drawn with a ballpoint pen, lead pencil, mechanical pencil, feather pen with metal nib, felt-tip pen, highlighter, Sharpie marker, dry-erase marker, charcoal, chalk, pastel sticks, an iPad stylus and even a wooden stick. Also included are the sounds of scribbling, paper manipulation, inkwells, sharpeners, rulers, drafting equipment, and more. All sounds were recorded in X/Y format for a wide stereo image that collapses cleanly to mono. And because everything was recorded at 96 kHz, you can easily adjust the speed to match what’s on screen without losing any detail - or pitch and process for creative sound design.
Each sound file is embedded with rich, UCS-standardized metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Advanced metadata fields ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as SoundQ, Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
